Friends Events

The “Friends of Hollesley School” run several events throughout the year; some of them to raise money for the school and some of them are just for fun.

FRIENDS of Hollesley Update – November 2023

Following the AGM on 19th October, we are very pleased to welcome some new members to the team. Jules Tyler has kindly agreed to remain Chair, Lou Grogan is vice chair, Sam Brereton is treasurer and Natasha Sones is Secretary and social media guru.

First and foremost our fundraising focus in 2023/2024 is to help pay for the School Swimming Pool refurb. It urgently requires a new pool heater before the summer term. Long term the School would like to enclose the pool and add changing facilities so the kids can use it all year round – what a fantastic goal!

We are hoping to repeat the success of the colour themed class hampers last year and will be asking for an appropriate item to be donated in return for Christmas jumper day.

Class Colours are as follows-

Green and orange – Seals and Nursery

Gold and Brown – Dolphins

White and Silver – Turtles

Red and Purple – Otters

Remember your donation can literally be anything (non-perishable) from a toilet roll to a Lamborghini… 😜

We are having a school disco on Thursday 14th December, 6pm-7.30pm, tickets will be £2 each.

We are writing to local businesses etc asking for donations we can raffle off at a Christmas coffee and cake afternoon following the Christmas Church Service on Monday 18th December. Amy Woolnough is organising these letters if anyone would like to help.

Last but not least, we are also looking to have a regular coffee morning/play group for parents, babies and pre-schoolers at the Hollesley Hub straight after the morning school run. This will be led by friends and in future we may open it up to the wider community. More details to follow.

That’s it for now- take care and as always, thanks for your continued support.
